The third semester of a three-semester sequence, this course is designed for those who have completed New Lehrhaus Hebrew 1 and 2 and have a working Hebrew vocabulary of about 200 words and are familiar with the grammar of nouns, adjectives, possessive endings and past and present tense verbs. It’s also a great choice for students with basic reading skills who seek a general grammar review.
In this semester, we’ll learn about:
- possessive endings for plural nouns
- the future tense
- how Hebrew verbs reverse tense
- imperative and infinitive verb forms
Finally, we’ll also spend some time learning more about the history of Hebrew and the Biblical world in which it lived.
Required text: Prayerbook Hebrew the Easy Way is available for sale at Afikomen Judaica in Berkeley and other outlets. Please purchase the book before the first session. Additional text materials will be provided by the instructor.
