Prof. Carole Joffe is a professor in the Dept of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UCSF and Professor Emerita, Dept. of Sociology, UC Davis. She is the author of several books on abortion, including Doctors of Conscience: The Struggle to Provide Abortion before and after Roe v. Wade and Dispatches from the Abortion Wars: The Costs of Fanaticism to Doctors, Patients and the Rest of Us.
