Rabbi Jessica Graf is the tenth senior rabbi in the over 165 year long history of Congregation Sherith Israel in San Francisco, where she herself became a bat mitzvah. On her way to becoming a rabbi she studied art history and worked in astronomy and astrophysics at an observatory at the top of a mountain in the Chilean Andes where she was “taking pictures of the night sky, which I’ve since paired with Jewish texts.”
