Steve Chester is Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Sinai in Oakland. He also served congregations in Jackson, Michigan and Stockton, CA. He served on the JFCS-East Bay board task force on poverty in the Jewish community. He has taught in several colleges and has served as prison chaplain for Jewish prisoners and led or took part in a wide variety of social justice activities.
