Yael Zerubavel

Yael Zerubavel, Professor Emerita of Jewish Studies & History at Rutgers University, is the author of Recovered Roots: Collective Memory and the Making of Israeli National Tradition (Chicago 1995) and Desert in the Promised Land (Stanford 2019). She has published extensively in the areas of collective memory, national myths, war and trauma, and symbolic landscapes. Zerubavel is the recipient of the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award of the Association for Israel Studies.
