Cheryl Lynn Greenberg is the Paul E. Raether Distinguished Professor of History, Emerita, at Trinity College in Connecticut, where she taught African American history, the Civil Rights Movement, and twentieth-century U.S. social and political history. She is the author of Troubling the Waters: Black-Jewish Relations in the American Century, winner of the American Jewish Historical Society’s Saul Viener Prize, as well as “Or Does It Explode?” Black Harlem in the Great Depression and To Ask for an Equal Chance: African Americans in the Great Depression. She also co-authored “A Day I Ain’t Never Seen Before”: Remembering the Civil Rights Movement in Marks, Mississippi and edited A Circle of Trust: Remembering SNCC. Greenberg earned her A.B. from Princeton University and her graduate degrees in history from Columbia University.
