Nick Underwood is an assistant professor of history and the Berger/Neilsen Chair in Judaic Studies at the College of Idaho. He has published widely on the history of Jews in France, and is the author of Yiddish Paris: Staging Nation and Community in Interwar France (Indiana University Press, 2022), which was named a Finalist for a National Jewish Book Award. He is also co-editor (with Meredith Scott) of Jewish Ideas of France: Migration, Diaspora, and Empire, published in 2025 by Routledge Press.
