Susan Gilson Miller

Susan Gilson Miller is Professor of History Emerita at UC Davis. Her B.A. is from Wellesley College, an M.A. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in the History of the Modern Middle East. An award-winning author, she has written on Muslim travel, Moroccan politics and history, Jewish architecture in the Mediterranean region, and Jewish refugees in North Africa during World War II. Her current project, entitled “The Last Pogrom,” is a study of the historiography and causality of the mass exodus of Jews from Morocco following the 1948 Israeli War of Independence.
