In his new biography, Robert Oppenheimer: The Sphinx Without a Secret, part of Yale University Press’s Jewish Lives series, journalist and author David Rieff looks beyond the familiar public story to explore Oppenheimer’s personality and inner life, including his childhood, personal relationships, and deeply ambivalent relationship to his Jewish identity.
