Leanne Grossman: Teshuva (and More) in the Redwoods. NEW DATE, expanded topic!
- Pacific Time In-Person Program
NEW DATE: Sunday, Oct. 27 (same Time)
During these High Holy Days, we have an opportunity to experience the awesome redwoods in our midst through a Jewish lens. Join us for a two-hour hike through the forest reflecting on T’shuva and MORE: anticipating the rainy season - learning what the forest ecosystems of today may tell us about Jewish beliefs on nature. Moments of silence and meditation will allow is to ponder the Days of Awe each in our own way. Bring your own lunch, which we’ll enjoy together in a redwood “temple.”
Bring: a packed lunch, hiking shoes, bandana, water bottle, journal, pen, and a hat!
Where are we meeting?
We will gather at 12pm at Reinhardt Regional Park, in the very first parking lot in the park, just opposite the Park Office. See the location on Google Maps here. Driving directions will be emailed to registrants.
How rigorous is the hike?
This will be an easy hike through the forest, with some paved road and some trails, with about a 20' total elevation gain, with lots of stops to talk about different plants and Jewish ecology. Halfway, we'll stop for a picnic lunch.
